Reflections on teaching my first sewing classThank you so much for all your good wishes on my last post.  I’m happy to report that my sewing class was a great success!  : )  I was pleasantly surprised at how many students showed up and their genuine enthusiasm about learning to sew.  I really couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

In this post I’ll share my thoughts about the class now that the whirlwind of preparation is over, but keep in mind that I’m by no means an expert in this area.  This was my very first attempt at teaching, after all!  In fact, I’d welcome any of your teaching tips and suggestions, so please chime in in the comments.  : )

Preparing to host a sewing class

This past week has been an absolute whirlwind as I prepare to host my first sewing class… and judging by the amount of work involved, it may be my last!  I don’t know how full-time teachers (of any craft, or subject for that matter) manage to keep up.  I’ve certainly been having fun with it, but I haven’t managed to do anything else all week except work, eat, sleep, and prepare for this class.  Phew!
